Gordon Moore

Moore in 1962 at Intel Co.

Gordon Moore was born on January 3, 1929, in San Francisco, California. ===

Moore got his PhD in chemistry and minored in physics, while studying at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). After graduating from Caltech, Moore joined his fellow almumnus, William Shockley, at the Shockley Semiconductor Laboratory. Moore and seven other fellow employees realized that Shockley was not a good manager and decided to leave and begin their oun silicon comapny, which was called Fairchild Semiconductor. Moore worked for Fairchild for eleven years. During this time Moore wrote and article about his predictions about the semiconductor industry. He said that every year the number of components on a silicon ship would double. This prediction later became known as Moore's Law. The Integrated Circuit:

The IC has had a huge impact on technology. If it weren't for this chip many of the technological devices we use today would not be here. The job of an IC is to covert didgital analog and analog to digital. In other words, the IC's purpose is to cmbine the entire circuit function into one process. It makes it easier to add benifits, in terms of space, such as, heat transfer and energy use.

In 1968 Moore left Fairchild and co-founded Intel Coporation with Bob Noyce. In 1975 Moore became the president of Intel Coporation. Intel Corporation is one of the largest silicon chip manufacturing companies in the world. Intel corporation has had a huge impact on technology. Here is a list of Intel's achievements over the last forty-two years:
