The monitor is the piece of computer hardware that displays the video and graphics information generated by the computer through the video card.
A monitor usually comprises the display device, circuitry, casing, and power supply. The display device in modern monitors is typically a thin film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) or a flat panel LED display, while older monitors used a cathode ray tubes (CRT). It can be connected to the computer via VGA, DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort, Thunderbolt, LVDS (Low-voltage differential signaling) or other proprietary connectors and signals.
Monitors are very similar to televisions but usually display information at a much higher resolution.
HISTORY OF MONITOR
The first monitors use CRT technology (cathode ray rube) and firstly made in 1922.
The earlier commercial version was produced in 1954Then, in 1969 James Fergason invented LCD display.
In 1972, the International Liquid Crystal Company (ILIXCO) owned by James Fergason produced the first modern LCD watch based on James Fergason's patent.the first LCD monitor was invented in 1998.
